Work

Don’t let the smoking monkey fool ya…I’m a seasoned marketing professional and media creative. I work with the Adobe Suite and Google tools for most things. My skills include writing, research, data analysis, scripting and storyboarding, A/V editing, livestream production, marketing and web development. I’m skilled with AI prompting for content creation and research. From 2023 – 2024 most of my work was for The Soil Food Web School via The Chophouse.

In late 2024, The Chophouse started production on The Deep Bed Impact, a documentary about Tiyeni, an NGO operating in Malawi, Africa that has helped more than 30,000 small holder farmers feed their families with Deep Bed Farming. I developed and managed the crowdfund including web dev and social media, AI assisted scripting, and AI generated voice-over for the project.

In 2025 I started volunteering at KUTZ LPFM in Sacramento, Permaculture Fair Oaks, and most recently, working on a documentary about soil science pioneer Dr. Elaine Ingham.

KUTZ LPFM 103.1 Sacramento

At the beginning of 2025 I had been living in Sacramento for a year and decided it was time to find another community radio station to meddle with. I found KUTZ 103.1 barley alive with 3 volunteers and an all rerun playlist. I started doing my thing to grow the station.

As of July 2025 KUTZ has a new station system, with 25 volunteers and more than a dozen shows running fresh content weekly. I’m the GM. We’re about to have 3 antenna locations having partnered with 2 other LPFM’s. Our Sacremento area reach will be more than 725,000 residents. I love community radio and the Sacramento local music scene is fantastic. Stay tuned for more news…

Stuff I’ve done for KUTZ

Rebuilt the website

Onboarded all new DJs
Manage social media engagement
Produced permaculture PSA series The Understory

Developed new relationships with local venues
Working on a grant with the Working Artists Lofts
And more…

Ashley Terry Films and The Chophouse

Ashley and I have been working together since 2017. We formed Uphill Media together and produced a lot of content for progressive organizations from 2017 – 2021. Ash has 20 years of professional videography and production experience behind him. He’s my mentor and goto motion graphics wizard. Our skills complement each other.

I built Ash’s new website  and one for his business, The Chophouse. I work as a contractor at The Chophouse and am also available for hire as a freelancer.

Life in Soil

Life in Soil is a feature-length documentary celebrating the life, legacy, and scientific revolution sparked by Dr. Elaine Ingham. Told through interviews, archival media, and footage from a land restoration conference, this film traces her rise from ostracized grad student to pioneering founder of the Soil Food Web School.

I started working with the Soil Food Web School (SFWS) in 2023 on a massive Permaculture Design course with hundreds of hours of video footage. Through editing and correspondence with the teacher, I became very knowledgable and interested in permaculture practices.

I developed the copy for the pitch deck, website and trailers for our documentary about Dr. Elaine Ingham, pioneer of soil microbiology and founder of the SFWS. We’re working with New Moon Films to secure funding for production.

The Deep Bed Impact

Work with The Soil Food Web School introduced me to Tiyeni, an NGO operating in Malawi, Africa to address food poverty. In late 2024, we started production on a documentary about their extraordinary success teaching Deep Bed Farming to smallholder farmers. One of our first efforts to draw attention to the film was a crowdfunding effort on Indiegogo. I developed the crowdfund page, wrote the content, and worked with Ash to produce several promotional videos.

KORC 105.9 LPFM Corvallis, Oregon

In early 2019 Uphill Media was offered the chance to run a low power FM radio station in Corvallis, Oregon.  The station was owned by Veterans For Peace, but they hadn’t been able to get it on air. I convinced the UHM board to buy the station with the promise that I’d handle the technical.

With the help of some incredible local volunteers wrangling the antenna and other hardware, I set up the programming and web presence from La Honda, California. In the first 2 years of operations I was the GM, created the majority of the art for shows, built and managed the website, station programming, licensing, and DJ’s.

In 2021 Uphill Media dissolved and we handed KORC to the non-profit, Community Airwaves and new GM, Dan Crall. Today KORC FM is a huge success thanks to the hard work of local volunteers like Dan Crall, Jennifer Cassidy and Ashley Terry.

Sloth Mountain Studios

I’ve done a variety of work for Brian Sagrafena at Sloth Mountain including YouTube management, Google suite admin, live video production, and web development. Here’s some of the videos I’ve done for SMS.

The Revolving Doors – California Or Bust!

Brian at Sloth Mountain shot this in low light. I did my best to make it work with a low res 70mm film look. The opening shot is from the 1978 movie, Convoy. I did the video editing including some very bad ass color grading, creative design, direction (sound tracking emotion moments), storyboard and GFX.

Gary Gates & Friends – Carry Your Dreams

This was a special project for San Mateo musican and local legend, Gary Gates. We had lots of concert footage but he wanted something different. So we shot some new stuff  on Coggins Ranch in La Honda (got in trouble shooting it) and grabbed some B-roll. The result is a colab with Gary’s direction and my editing.

Gary Gates & Friends – Friend of the Devil

Filmed at the San Gregorio Store in Northern CA with 6 Gopros and a Panasonic 770 camcorder. Edited in Adobe Premiere. Audio mix by Sloth Mountain Studios.

Postman Jack & The Special Deliveries – Out in the Wild

Promo for Postman Jack & The Special Deliveries who are recording their debut album at Sloth Mountain. I did the camera work, interview, editing and GFX.

Bundy Browne & Friends – Honey Bee

This was a special concert with several notable musicians. Bundy Browne a local favorite, Gypsy Guitar (Sang with BB King), and Myron Dove (Bass player for Santata). Filmed at the San Gregorio Store in Northern CA with 6 Gopros and a Panasonic 770 camcorder. Edited in Adobe Premiere. Audio mix by Sloth Mountain Studios.

Sloth Mountain Studios – Trailer #1

YouTube trailer for Sloth Mountain Studios. I shot and conducted the interview with Brian, produced and edited the video.
